Terms of Service

Last updated:

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using EngineO.ai ("EngineO" or "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by EngineO.ai ("we", "us", "our").

2. Description of Service

EngineO is a Shopify app that helps merchants improve how their products show up in search engines and AI assistants. It connects to your Shopify store through the Shopify API, reads your store's products, collections, pages and blog posts, checks your storefront homepage, identifies visibility issues, and uses AI to draft fixes for your review.

3. Account and Access

Your EngineO account is created when your store installs EngineO from Shopify, and you sign in by opening EngineO from your Shopify admin. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including your Shopify admin account. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. How EngineO Works

EngineO connects to your Shopify store through the Shopify API, using the permissions you approve when you install it. It reads your store's content and checks your storefront homepage to find visibility issues, and uses AI to draft improvements. When EngineO is first opened on your store, it adds its own data fields to your store so that it can save AI answers there; this does not change any of your existing content. EngineO changes your products, collections, pages, blog posts and images only when someone on your team asks it to: publishing a change to your existing content is for the store owner, and a team member with the Owner or Editor role can save an AI-written blog post into Shopify as an unpublished draft. The one exception is AI answers: on the Pro plan, once the store owner turns on the setting that publishes AI answers to your store, new answers are published as they are written. EngineO cannot undo a change after it has been published: to change something back, edit it and publish it again, or edit it in your Shopify admin.

5. Subscription and Billing

The Service offers a Free plan and paid plans with different feature and usage limits. Pricing and plan details are displayed on our pricing page. Paid plans are billed monthly by Shopify, on your Shopify invoice. You may cancel or change your plan at any time. If you move to the Free plan, access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period. If you uninstall EngineO, paid features end right away. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

6. Your Data

You retain ownership of all content and data in your Shopify store. EngineO accesses your store data solely to provide the Service. We do not sell your data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.

7. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service to violate any laws, infringe on intellectual property rights, transmit harmful content, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these guidelines.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
